This tutorial provides step-by-step guidance about the creation (in Part 1) and subsequent extension (in Part 2) of a lab image based on Windows 11. In the creation phase, we install Visual Studio Code (VS Code), and in the extension phase, we add Jupyter. This tutorial serves as a reference for installing various IT tools compatible with multi-session support on Windows 10 and 11, referencing Clover’s image management practices.

1. Initiate Image Creation in Clover

2. Choose Image Creation Method

3. Enter Lab Image Details

4. Set Administrator Credentials

5. Configure OS Disk and Image Size

Important Note:

The selection of OS Disk Type and Image Size is exclusively relevant to the image creation process. This choice is entirely independent of the virtual machine sizes used later to instantiate the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) host pool. Specific VM sizes and configurations for your AVD host pool will be defined separately during host pool creation.

Step 2: Prepare the Base Windows 11 Installation

Step 3: Install Visual Studio Code

Step 4: Configure the Environment

Step 5: Confirming the Image

Assuming that the educator, or another educator, wants to later extend the Web Development tools (which already include VS Code) with new ones such as Jupyter or others— the objective of this tutorial is to show you how to extend a previously created image.

Step 2: Boot the Image and Prepare for Extension

Step 3: Install Jupyter

Step 4: Confirm the Extended Image

By following these steps, educators can create a robust virtual lab environment featuring Visual Studio Code on Windows 11, tailored to their course requirements and optimized for student engagement and learning.

[32

post-9113","manual_documentation","type-manual_documentation","status-publish","hentry","manualdocumentationcategory-clover-documentation
